K. C. May grew up in the Midwest and in Hawaii, attended University of Colorado in Boulder and graduated with a B.A. in Russian from Florida State University ("Go Noles!"). In 1985, she moved to Taiwan where she taught English and studied Mandarin Chinese. Now living in Arizona with rottweilers named Felony and Honor, and a cat named Diego de la Vega, she works as a software engineer for a large software company.
